The Royal Hawaiian offers Waikiki's only beach luau, including the music and dancing of The Royal Polynesian Extravaganza. Guests can be pampered at the Abhasa Spa, a full service spa that truly embraces the hotel's gardens or lounge in the sun at the Royal Beachside Café. The rooms in the historic wing of the hotel feature a traditional décor with Queen Anne style furnishings. The elegant Royal Hawaiian is a landmark hotel, which sits on one of the few private beaches on Waikiki. With the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center outside the lobby doors, guest will find distractions away from the beach. The beachfront Mai Tai Bar is reputed to have invented the tropical drink of the same name. The hotel's roped-off private beach provides boating, and surfing. Room service is available 24 hours a day. This turreted pink-stucco hotel, opened in 1927, is known as the "Pink Palace". For elegant accommodations in an exclusive, beachfront location, the Royal Hawaiian is a fine choice. Besides a private beach, there are two oceanfront pools. The guest rooms in the Tower were recently remodeled, and feature contemporary furnishings, with spectacular views overlooking either the Coconut Grove, the Porte Cochere, the Royal Nursery or Waikiki Beach. In keeping with the pink theme of this hotel, the sheets and towels are also pink.
